Successful Surgery!!!

Maylee had a very successful surgery in Memphis yesterday.

Her toes are not curled in anymore, and she has been walking this afternoon with some help. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. They were definitely felt and appreciated! God is beyond great. We serve a MIGHTY God who can do anything.

This life with Maylee has blown me away. It's amazing reflecting back on the past seven months with her.

SUMMER FUN

This summer has been a blast, and it's our first summer with Maylee.

She is still the happiest little girl, and she will always be my sweet angel.

Maylee has spina bifida and she will have surgery on August 7th in Memphis.

Please pray for her as we all go through this together. I will keep you updated on that.

I am posting some pictures from this summer, which has been great so far, but it is coming to an

end. Honestly, I am ready for school to start back. I will be a SOPHOMORE in highschool.

LIFE IS GOOD. GOD IS GREAT.

"What A Wonderful World"--Guangzhou, China

After we were finished with everything in Nanjing, we left for Guangzhou.
Maylee was sitting across from me on the two hour plane ride there, and she was was very wiggly! =)
Guangzhou is an amazing, isolated island. We all love it and our hotel!

Maylee is two years old! And she has had her happiest day yet on her birthday! I'm so glad that her birthday was while we were in China, so we could celebrate it all together; also so she could have one last birthday in Nanjing. We went out to eat for dinner at a traditional Chinese restaurant.

The food was very good, and our travel guide, Anna, surprised us with a lovely and very delicious cake! Maylee really enjoyed her big night!

Nanjing City Wall

Still on our sightseeing day, we went to the Nanjing City Wall.
It's the largest city wall in the world!
It was beautiful and definately my definition of fun!
The view was INCREDIBLE!
We actually counted the steps too--158!

Nanjing Museum

Here are some pictures from the Nanjing Museum on our sightseeing day.
The museum was BEAUTIFUL with pieces of art like jade, porcelain, and lacquer. I learned a lot on this trip to the museum. It was really fun!

Today we visited the orphanage and the street where they found Maylee.

It was a very sad and important part of the trip.

We are thankful that now she is forever and ever ours.

She gets happier by the second!

Tomorrow is her birthday, and we can't wait to go out to eat at a Chinese restaurant and take more pictures!

Here are some updated pictures of Maylee; she smiles more now!

Today we are going to visit the orphanage to see where she has been living for the past year. Tomorrow is Maylee's birthday! We are going to celebrate at a very nice Chinese resturant. The driving is VERY dangerous over here, and everyone stares at us, because most of them haven't seen an American in real life--some have asked us for pictures. We've eaten nothing but American food so far, ( Burger King, McDonald's, Papa John's, KFC ) and Maylee loves to eat! I hope you enjoy some of the updated pictures I'm putting on! =)

Gotcha Day!

Today, December 1, 2008 is so far the best day of my entire life.
Today I got my sister Maylee. She loves to laugh, smile, and walk/run.
